Beverly was nominated for the 2017 Robert W. Teeter Award by Ana Espinoza, a member of our Board of Directors.
Beverly has two children, Tom and Patricia, along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her husband, the late Thomas G. Shaughnessy, was Berwyn’s mayor from 1993 to 2005.
Beverly attended Jefferson Elementary School and graduated on June 10, 1941. She graduated from Morton High School in May 1945, where she was a cheerleader and her husband was on the football team.
Beverly served the community for over 35 years. She worked at the Berwyn Health Department for 4 years, was a City Hall Court Clerk for 5 years, and spent 15 years as Circuit Court Supervisor.

Beverly is well known in the community for her volunteer efforts. She helped plant flowers in the Depot District and helped build a playground. At the Health Department, she encouraged people to donate at blood drives. Along with her husband, Beverly helped with fundraising for Veterans at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, and most recently, she volunteered at MacNeal Hospital for 2 years.
